Featuring the giant Christmas tree enormously made up of fairy lights, as well as the lanterns, Belens, and Christmas trees crafted by the nine academic departments, Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) formally commenced its Advent Season celebration on Wednesday evening, December 14, 2022, at the MTV Circle.
In his speech, Mr. Mario C. Villanueva, NCF President, accentuated that NCF has a lot of โ€œreasons to be thankful and to celebrate.โ€ He then mentioned the recent feat of the menโ€™s basketball team (seniors division) in the BUCAL Games Season 4, as well as the Level IV accredited status for the BEED program conferred by the PACUCOA โ€“ the first in the Bicol region.
โ€œI hope you are proud of being a Tiger as our achievements prove that we are the Home of the Champions, not just in sports but also in academics,โ€ President Villanueva added.
Meanwhile, after the flash mob of the student leaders and menโ€™s basketball team, and the Christmas serenade performance of the NCF chorale, President Villanueva and Dr. Aida P. Osea, Vice President for Academic Affairs, pulled the lever to light the giant Christmas tree and the other Christmas elements surrounding the tree.
Street foods and Christmas merienda were also served to the attendees as the event continued through the live band performances.
Furthermore, the lanterns and Belens constructed by the nine academic departments are set to be exhibited through the Parade of Lights today, from the MTV Circle to Robinsonโ€™s Place Nagaโ€” wherein the lanterns and the Belens will be displayed at the mall for the time being. The NCF Concert and Marching Band is also expected to serenade the spectators.
The entire program was organized by the Administrative and Institutional Affairs (AIA) Office, Administrative Services and Campus and Facilities Management Office (CFMO), and the Central Student Government (CSG), headed by Ms. Teenarose O. Castroverde, Vice President for AIA, Engr. Odelon M. Remoquillo, Head of CFMO, and Mr. John Neil Cabalquinto, CSG President, respectively.
