National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Regional Office V and Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) – College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) conducted a three-in-one affair — Police Recruitment Forum, Signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Criminology Internship Program, and the Orientation for Criminology Interns’ Deployment, last September 8, 2022, at The Quad.
The Police Recruitment Forum was administered as part of the 28th National Crime Prevention Week, from September 1 to 7, 2022, bearing the theme: “Sa New Normal: Sambayanan Magtulungan, Krimen ay Hadlangan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran.”
Concrete manifestations of the theme were seen through lectures regarding Drug Prevention Education, Guidelines and Procedures for the Recruitment, Selection, and Appointment of Patrolman/Patrolwoman, PNP Recruitment Process, and the Medical and Dental Requirements for the PNP Applicants, wherein comprehensive discussions were led by representatives from regional and provincial offices of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), NAPOLCOM, and PNP.
Meanwhile, the Naga City Police Office through PCOL NELSON A PACALSO, ACD, and PLTCOL ERROL T GARCHITORENA JR, DCDA, and Naga College Foundation, Inc. represented by NCF President Mario C. Villanueva and Dean of the CCJE, Dr. Marilyn F. Balares, sealed a Memorandum of Agreement centered on Criminology Internship Program. The agreement aims to widen enhancement opportunities and pre-service development for criminology interns of NCF.
Criminology interns also underwent orientation for their deployment spearheaded by PLTCOL ERROL T GARCHITORENA JR, DCDA. The said deployment will serve as “an additional force to strengthen the security” and means to establish and maintain peace and order for the forthcoming activities in the city related to the Peñafrancia Festival.
Furthermore, NAPOLCOM Regional Office V awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Dr. Marilyn F. Balares for her contribution to the overall success of the National Crime Prevention Week Celebration in the Bicol region.”
