Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) offered a concelebrated liturgical ceremony in view of the 76th Commencement Exercises as an expression of thanksgiving to the Almighty for a successful academic year 2022-2023, as well as to honor the candidates for graduation from higher education, today, June 29, 2023, at The Quad.
Assisted by Rev. Fr. Godofredo C. Rueda, Jr., the outgoing NCF chaplain, Rev. Fr. Joseph Wilfred V. Almoneda, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of
Caceres, presided over the Eucharistic Mass.
As today’s occasion coincided with the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, Rev. Fr. Almoneda emphasized the pivotal roles of Saints Peter and Paul in the establishment of the early church and suggested that graduating students may draw influence and inspiration from saints’ missionary lives as they “navigate their post-college life with purpose, courage, and resilience.”
According to Rev. Fr. Almoneda, Saints Peter’s and Paul’s missionary works can serve as powerful examples of “living a life rooted in spirituality and finding purpose in one’s faith… persevering in the face of adversity, staying focused on your goals, and overcoming obstacles you may encounter in your chosen paths… Enhancing global perspectives, valuing cultural diversity, and seeking opportunity to engage people with various backgrounds.”
In order to discern our unique mission as citizens of the country and God’s children, Rev. Fr. Almoneda concluded that “the key is to take initiative. Be open to learning and growth, and actively seek opportunities where you can apply your knowledge and skills by using your unique talents and resources that can contribute to the world in meaningful ways and pave the way to a brighter future.
