As a prelude to the 76th Commencement Exercises tomorrow, June 30, 2023, Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) held the Investiture Ceremony and Recognition Rites for Higher Education today, June 29, 2023, at The Quad.
The esteemed members of the academic council administered the donning of the academic hoods, class medallions, and caps to nearly 1,600 candidates for graduation from higher education—a ceremonial preparatory act of granting the respective degrees to the
candidates.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mario C. Villanueva, NCF President, and Dr. Aida P. Osea, Vice President for Academic Affairs, led the conferment of special academic and non-academic awards to the honorees who excelled in various curricular and co-curricular affairs, such as thesis defense, internship, cultural arts, journalism, sports, and band, among others.
With a profound sense of fulfillment and gratitude, John Neil A. Cabalquinto, a recipient of the MTV Service-Leadership Award and the outgoing president of Central Student Government (CSG), spoke before the attendees, emphasizing his perspective on good governance.
“Reforming is not to please others, but by heart, valuing what the organization stands for. We reform because we believe in its future; to fuel our common efforts and renew our faith not only in the programs and goals of the Central Student Government but also in the whole Tigers’ community,” Cabalquinto said.
Praying that the stars would align in their favor, Cabalquinto apprised the honorees that “We cannot change everything at once; however, if we stay true to ourselves and good intentions and work together transparently, flexibly, and effectively, everything will lead to progress and efficient resolution, consequently and consistently.”
